Visitors were expected to stay for the entire night. They were asked to deposit all clothes and personal belongings by the signing in.
"The Night Hospital is staffed with skillful nurses and experts who will do their utmost to make your stay as pleasant as possible. However, discomfort may occur in certain individuals. Disorientation and depravation of sleep are to be counted on.
Be signing in you will be given an envelope containing details of your temporary identity. The staff will refer to you by this only and will under no circumstances discuss the framework surrounding the Night Hospital.
You will be shown a bed, which will be yours during your stay. You will be following the directions of the hospital staff until you are singed out the following morning."
