"With Nika is Dead, Signa Sørensen has extended a work which more than everything else in the present radiates presence."

- Janus Kodal, Politiken, den 13. Oktober 2002

"Exploring Signa Sørensen's new performance installation 'Nika is Dead' is both puzzling, challenging and utterly fascinating. A highly daring game in which the audience is in direct dialogue with the performers and becomes part of an inseparable mixture of reality and fiction."

- Vibeke Wern, Berlingske Tidende, den 15. oktober 2002

Time: 10/10 – 20/10, 2002
Place: The old industrial rooms in the ground floor of Njalsgade 17 – 27, Copenhagen
Duration: 250 hours nonstop
Number of performers: 12
Resumé: The last performance installation of the Twin Life project, Nika is Dead, evolved around Nika's staged death and resurrection, and was conceived as a sort of modern requiem and at the same time an insoluble murder mystery. The performance evolved over a period of ten days - 250 hours - and was open to the public at all times. The installation employed ten rooms in an abandoned industrial building on the docks of Copenhagen. Ten performers lived in the rooms day and night. The work included audio installation, performance, dance, video, photography and live performances of both chorales and modern electronic music.
The visitors were given the opportunity to experience Nika is Dead and to sojourn in the rooms in many different ways. They could talk to the performers, read left behind letters and look at photographs, walk around inside the installation and observe how it progressed from day to day, drink tea or eat a meal alone or with the inhabitants of the installation - or they could spend the night or even move in. Which several visitors actually did.
